1lb strawberries, 6 oz blueberry, 5 carrots, wedge lime, wedge lemon, 1 navel orange, 1 pear

Due to the wacky weather this year - there is a bumper crop of strawberries that need to be consumed from FL and CA. Take advantage of the low prices and get juicing one of natures sweetest gifts.

Blueberries are good for getting your eyes to adjust to the night - and give you better visual acuity.

The strawberry is really a wonder- it is one of the eight foods most linked to lower rates of cancer (according to a study in NJ with over 1200 elderly people. They are loaded with anticancer compound ellagic acid. Folks in the study who consumed the most strawberries were 3x less likely to develop cancer as those who ate them infrequently!

This drink will give you a rush so a little goes a long way. Plus if you are having a party - a little rum and ice will have your guests taste buds doing somersaults.

Beets are bloody good

Picture
1 Beet (peeled), 1 Pear, 10 Carrots, 6 radishes, sprig of parsley, 1/3 bunch celery, slice of lemon, slice of lime, piece of ginger

Carrot and beet juice together gives your body phosphorous/sulfur and potassium in a high dose. Vitamin A is also very rich in this mix. All of this equates one of the best natural builder of blood cells - especially the red blood corpuscles.

Peeling the beet is not required but it makes the juice a bit sweeter. Make sure to wash your root veggies well, unless you like eating dirt.

Caution: drinking too much beet juice at one time may cause a cleansing effect of the liver. This can actually cause you to become dizzy. So use plenty of carrots in your juice for balance. Also, beet juice will stain anything it touches including your skin - so pay attention to what you are wearing.

Red Grapefruit Peeling Technique

With citrus, the thicker the skin - the easier it is to remove the skin. Look for organic if your budget allows, and make sure the fruit is heavy and has thick skin. Thin skinned grapefruits have been on the shelf for a while and are harder to peel. Aside from the obvious reasons, it's a good idea to wash your hands quickly to keep the acids from ruining your fingernails/cuticles.

8 Kale leaves, 8 sprigs Parsley, 1 bunch Celery , 3 Oranges, 2 Grapefruit, half bag baby Carrots, 1 Lemon

Did you know it was common for our ancient ancestors to eat up to six pounds of leaves per day. Walking along from one place to another, just picking and eating leaves as they went. Can you imagine eating a grocery bag full of greens each and every day? Few of us even eat the minimum USDA recommendations of 3 cups of dark green vegetables per week. And yet, these veggies deliver a bonanza of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients

My Clementine

Picture
5 Clementine Oranges, 5 large dandelion leaves, 1/4 head cauliflower, 1/4 pineapple, 1 small cube freshly skinned ginger

In addition to being a unwelcome weed on your lawn, dandelion leaves are a spectacular source of: potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, and iron in the kitchen. They help the body fight off any bone ailments, decay of the teeth, and a variety of other prevalent issues.

Dandelion is very bitter, so you need to really go easy with your ratio to other ingredients. We used the very sweet Clementine oranges and pineapple to counteract the strong flavor, and bit of ginger to mask it a bit more.

Grapefruit Goodness

Fresh Florida Red Grapefruit is one of my favorites - The combination of tart and sweet just can't be beat. In addition to it's many health benefits, Grapefruit has a fat-burning enzyme and can help to absorb & reduce the starch/sugar in the body. People who are trying to lose weight should drink/eat lots of grapefruit.

1/4 pineapple, 2 hearts celery, 1 apple, 1/2 bunch parsley, 1 red pepper, 1 bunch kale

Kale juice is high in sulphur, chlorine, and iodine. These are great for cleansing the mucus membranes. Thus has been very effective to help the relief of ulcers and constipation. The pineapple and the apple make this combination palatable.

This is a combo that will smack you in the face because it tastes so good. Bet you can't just drink one glass. In addition to it's other properties, pineapple helps reduce swelling brought about by arthritis, gout, sore throat and acute sinusitis
